Has anyone anchored a coop/run in our desert dirt? We've used t-posts in the past, but this coop has round "feet" so we can't drive anything into the ground immediately next to it.

Could you cut a section out of the circle to be able to add your posts to it?

Maybe others will have idea's too?
I read the link you posted and is very interesting.
Up to now,, I always knew what my mom did. Old school method with very little options.
She took yellow onion skins, and boiled the eggs with the onion skins. Got boiled eggs, and colored in one process.
When you had NOTHING,,,,,, you did the best with what was available.
Eggs were only yellow in color.
I suppose if you used red onion skins, would get a lavender tone color eggs.
There were no other onions except yellow onions available to her in her days/situation.

I used to use trampoline stakes. Pound them into the caliche with a 2-4 pound mallet. You might have to take a few attempts (moving to a few inches away) when you hit rock.

I find this natural way of coloring egg's interesting. It's probably a better way, with all of the artificial coloring that may contain certain coloring additives that they are trying to ban as being bad for people.

Leave the discard stuff. There will be so much of it you won't be able to keep up.
I left it. The farm is five weeks old now. I see all stages: mealworms, pupae, beige/brown/black beetles. They do fine even in 100+ temps. If I had known it was this easy I would have started a worm farm ages ago. Should I wait another month or so before starting to harvest worms?

How many worms are there? Lots? If so, you can probably harvest some.
