We put a band-aid on her legs - she hates it and keeps trying to pick at it, but I'm sure she'll get used to it. I hope it works. She's quite feisty and hobbles over to the food now. She somehow got out of the basket I was keeping her & the sleepy one in. It's too bad that the healthy chick has the bad legs, while the droopy one has good legs.

It's been over 6 hours since we picked them up and my sleepy chick still does nothing but sleep, except for when I pick it up to give it more sugar water (I give it 3 sips every 30-45 minutes or so). It'll open its eyes when swallowing, but them shuts them again. I'm still caring for it, but don't expect this chick to make it (hasn't eaten yet, so isn't getting any nourishment). It was probably was too weak to handle the shipping journey.

Well i just wanted to say Hello to my fellow Arizonans/and Chicken lovers! I started in february with 5 chicks from the feed store/2 Black rocks/2RIR's/1 BR/when they grew up I got them 2 boyfriends a Golden laced cochin rooster and a Blue cochin rooster/then in may I started to get the bug to hatch so I hatched out 2 Bo chicks and a LB chick they are girls/so with my limited success I ordered some BBS cochin eggs and some LB eggs ended up with around 20 chicks sold 15 and 8 weeks later have 5 roos LOL lesson wait to sell till you can tell what they are!!!well it did not stop there I really wanted some JG's so I got some eggs from Pamspride now have 10 Black JG's/but I really like Blue so I have some 12 day old BBS JG eggs from Wynette and a dozen of my mutt eggs and 2 EE eggs ready to hatch wow what a journey!!!(oh yeah I have pheasants to)

I love the Cochins. They are so fun! congrats on all the chicks. Im still waiting for mine to start laying. Slackers!

Sock Puppet I forgot I got a Buff Cochin/and 5 black cochin hens the buff and 1 black just started laying last week and today so i get about 4 to 6 eggs a day/cant wait till they all start laying!!

Cool, there is hope. My cochins was born in Feb. Keeping my fingers crossed it could be any day now.

Everyone is getting eggs, can you send good egg vibes my way? I have got exactly one egg since I got the 3 girls (Frizzle, Bantam Cochin and standard Cochin). hmmm. I guess they all could be "senior" gals ? I figured they needed time to settle in but its been almost a month if my memory serves me...

I heard cochins could lay anywhere from 6 months to 1 year. Mine are 7 and 8 months old
