Gaawwwwwwww! I wanna get my coop done and get my chicks out there so bad. I just came in from working on it thinking, how loud is the table saw. I guess I should let the neighbors sleep and work on it tomorrow after my dentist appointment. When I shut the lights off in my shop all 6 chicks were perched up on a roost like big girls, I hadn't seen them do that yet. They looked pretty happy.

I know exactly what you mean! There just is not enough hours in the day and can't they make a silent saw!? I remember bringing a board inside the garage to cut it so that I was not loud for the neighbors.
Best of luck on your work. Let us see some pictures.

Ugh! Exactly! I happen to have sleeping issues anyway and I am so wired during the night there is no helping the urge to BUILD something.

Yeah, I was going to chime in that Mondays are great. I'm off work Sun Mon Tues, Sundays are great because the family is around and Tuesdays DW works at home so we can have lunch together. But Monday is just me woot!

I haven't been on here in months! I'm getting ready to plant grass for our chickens, ducks, guineas, and rabbits, and I'm wondering if other desert dwellers have any variety recommendations? I'm leaning toward Pennington Sahara Bermuda grass. [We're in Hereford (between Sierra Vista and Bisbee) at 5000 ft, USDA zone 8.]
I have bee's that started inhabiting my pecan tree this weekend and they are still here. They dont seem to be leaving. They are about 5' up the trunk in the crook of the tree. Im starting to get really nervous because the tree is right where we need to build our coop. The kids play around that tree too and my chickens hang out under it.
I cant afford to have anyone come remove them right now.
My Monday had some higher than usual grumpiness in it as well. I can relate.
The too much alone time vs not enough alone time vs the too much people time vs not enough people time issues fascinate me. We all need both, but have wide ranging preferences in how much of each brings us the most fulfillment. No matter where we are at on the people vs alone need ration, it seems many of struggle to put just the rigth balance into practice. This first dawned on me when a young married college student working a booth at relationship fair for her class project told me with great earnestness that everyone needs some alone time each day to be healthy and that it was important to work that in. At the time (and most of the time) getting enough alone time was easy for me. More challenging was getting in people time. Now that I live in a neighborhood with many elderly folks. I see that when they had young ones at home, they probably hungered for alone time, now they have that in abundance. It is all a balance and so difficult to pull of at an optimal level.
Grass for AZ: No idea. Good luck. My only comment: The grass here is VERY DIFFERENT from the grass in Utah.
And finally:
Yippee! I got permission for my avatar and with some advice from Laree on the tech end, it is up!
ETA: Well, I also now have a blank BYC webpage. That is annoying. If anyone knows how to delete it until I actually put something up, let me know.
