I'm so excited about the others! 11 more days!

I have to share the "view" I had while I candled the eggs. I had an audience!

I get attached to critters pretty fast. I'm trying not to get overly involved other than doing my best to make sure they have what they need and a safe environment as possible, but hmm. They're just so dang entertaining, and sweet in their own silly way!

So here's tonight's installment. It all started with Meaty, then the rest of them decided I looked comfy....I ended up with all 4 there, including the standoffish Wyandotte and the aggro mini-roosterette (no poops, happily!!!!)



I had to do the 'soft focus' thing. Yard work all day + fresh out of shower/no makeup = SCARY!!!!

I'm hoping the roos don't wake me up in the morning like they usually do.

I'm going to BarBQ some more brats and have fun in the pool with the kids tomorrow, and nap and ... just have a LAZY day.

Back from camping.

Sore, tired and sunburned. I can't even begin to explain how amazing it was to have a shower and a comb this evening.

I made pickles 8 days ago and tried them today - FANTASTIC!!! I will probably never BUY pickles again.

SUPER lazy day tomorrow. Hope everyone had a safe and fun weekend!!

It's a boy! At least, I'm pretty dang sure after all of the squeaky crowing attempts this morning.......right now they're actually pretty quiet.

I know it seems everyone is looking for a home for their roos, but is anyone looking for a bantam GLS? He's growing into a pretty boy and I want to try and find a good home for him. A longer term worry is my other bantam.

They are quite the pair already and if the roo does have to go, I'm thinking we might need to find another bantam pullet for company? What do you all think?? Does anyone have a 7-8 week old bantam pullet that they're looking to find a home for??

I might have a smaller type pullet that you might be interested in. Im trying to limit my chicken population. I had an explosion and they kept multiplying

Is she bantam or? How old, what kind, etc? We are trying to limit our population by rehoming our roo before he gets any ideas

We just don't have the room for more than 4.....I'm sure other folks have said the same thing and ended up with more anyway, but I really mean it!
