My silkies lay somewhat pink eggs (sometimes more creamy than pink). They go broody after laying 6 eggs though.

I have been gone for awhile...looks like most of you are doing good. Sounds like a few losses here and there.

I have been selling off an estate and don't get much time to post or even read posts. I also sold a cow to someone in New Mexico, that was a little bit of a pain but it is done.

My birds are glad that it is starting to cool off up here, getting more eggs....YEA!!!

Loved the picture back a bit of the quail, I just had 20 hatch here, they are really fun

Have a GREAT day everyone.....

I'm locking down my incubator. I have 3 blue polish in there for a friend. I'm very excited, it will be the first time I hatched anything from the blue. My sick chicks are looking better. No blood and they are standing up again on their own. That's my good news for today.

I talked to an old friend I hadn't seen in years. He was a good friend of my ex boyfriend. I stopped dating the ex about 13 years ago (can't believe that much time has passed already), I last saw him at a snacks game working as security. He had put on a few pounds but wasnt obese. I didn't speak to him tho. I found out today that he had a heart attack and died a short time later. He is 2 years older than me. He would have been 30 or 31 when he died. I'm just in shock. You hear about these things but never know someone it actually happens to. Maybe knowing this will motivate me to take better care of myself. I feel horrible for his mother. That's my bad.

wish I could sleep.

Last week I did the Dr. Shulzes 5 day colon cleanse,

Starting today I'm doing the 5 day Liver/Gallbladder detox.

wish me luck... I have to fast days 2, 3 & 4.... other than the nasty stuff I have to drink....

If anyone in Phoenix is looking, a friend has 5 Turken pullets, 4 NH Reds and one Easter Egger for sale. $15/bird. They all just started laying and they decided they didn't want to take them to their house and I don't need any more myself! There's also a Dark Brahma Roo and an Easter Egger Roo for free. All are really gentle birds. Haven't been hen pecked yet, they're smart... run away from the boys!

Found around 7 eggs total, they probably started laying a couple of days ago but I wasn't expecting eggs until September so I only found them today. Only 3 seem viable so I took a pic

There were 2 choco-eggs so I guess my no-name Marans is laying, and I would venture to guess that the other brown ones are from the Production Red, Joanie. Woohoo!!!

No green eggs yet but I guess I gotta keep my eyes peeled and check every morning now. ZOMG!!

I forgot to say thanks to NoSkiveez and SonoranSilkies for their information on coccidiosis. I didn't put the short hand cocci with the longer name and never even thought about it occurring here in AZ. For some reason I always associated it with the tropics (from my travels there). So, I wouldn't have thought about it if you didn't post about it NoSkiveez. I'm learning something new everyday. Thanks, and I'm glad your birds are improving. I've been avoiding the "Emergencies/diseases/injuries" section of the forum from the beginning; that's a depressing place if you don't have problems. However, I'm now over there and reading up on everything that can go wrong and what to do about it. I would also note that I went out right away and thoroughly cleaned the coop. I'm spiffing up the run this evening.

I also have a few things available too.

I have a flock of 7 or 8 Andalusians (pretty sure thats what they are...apparently they look like marans as chicks and I got these by breeders mistake). There is atleast 1 rooster. About 14 weeks old. $25 takes them all.

Houdan Rooster 20 weeks (Brownish color and minimal mottling, 4 toes on one foot)

Frizzle rooster 20 Weeks. Black. Nice looking.

Mystery chickens

1 white (pretty sure its a hen) Hatched Easter $10 obo

1 brown bantam sized chicken (appears to be henish) Hatched March 14th and should be laying soon. $10 obo. Very very small chicken. Not much more than a hand full.

We live in Casa Grande but if someone from here gets them my husband will bring them to tempe on his way to work.
