Arizona Chickens

Yeah, I am totally ok with the explination, but it would have been easier without the whole avian-egg reproduction thing.

Mahonri,

There are like 7 or 8 contests... but indeed, I had the first chick hatch after midnight...12:05AM MST, 1/1/11. and I posted the pics to prove it.

But I gave my 6 mo. GFM to the 2nd place winner as I didn't need it.

Can anyone recommend a poultry vet anywhere in the north or west end of the Phoenix area? My kid's favorite rooster has what looks like yellow blobs growing/forming on his wattle and face. He can't hardly open his eyes. I am not a fan of spending a fortune on animals, hard as that may sound, especially since I don't have it now, but if there is something that can be done I need to do it.

Thanks all.

Any ideas what it is? Seems to have started after fighting amongst the roos for reordering the pecking order.

Bob,
I only know one in the SE Valley.
Did you post on "Emergencies / Diseases / Injuries and Cures" ?
Someone on BYC might know what's going on.

I know exactly how you feel. We have always said that our chickens won't visit a vet, but if it comes right down to it, I could see it happening for my daughter's sake.
Good luck!
