Arizona Chickens

noskiveez We just hatched out a FrenchBlack Copper Maran pair from Wynette they are 2 mos. old right now. We hatched out Quail before they zip so fast it made my head spin. We are in the process of hatching out 150 Ringnecks for a Ranch in New Mexico, have never had good luck with Pheasant hatching.

I have a 3 year old that constantly changes the names of her chickens, and expects us to call them by the right name. When she was 2, her favorite chicken was named "Black Girl". Now, she still likes black chickens the best, so she has a cuckoo marans. We never know if her name is Coco, Alexa, Alyssa, Sarah, Alice, or who knows what else.

WOOHOO!!! How exciting! At first I just knew you were going to announce that you were pregnant.

After 5 kids, I don't even have to say "Guess what" anymore. People just ask me CONSTANTLY if I am pregnant yet. Anyway, it is a perfectly lovely egg! Your photography was stunning.

Now, I am going to TRY to get some work done and stop trying to think of names for a turkey's first egg.

At least with a 2 yr old you still get veto power. My two hens are named Sherman and Mrs. Pecker.

I LOVE Mrs. Pecker!

My boys are on a Star Wars kick, so I have Yoda and Vader (yes, Vader is black). Not to mention, Twinkie (a buff orphington) named by my granddaughter.

Thanks. I am just leaning the camera stuff, so it is good to have some encouragement.

I have to second everyone's love of "Mrs. Pecker."

When I was a little kid, I had Nubian goats named Caesar and Cleopatra, and a cockatiel (that was supposed to be male but turned out to be female once she started laying eggs

) Her name was Boris Pecker!!

So I guess I had a Mrs. Pecker too in a way......

Oh, and by the way, my vote is for "Poult Bolt" for the first Turkey egg!
