I have some of Mt. Healthy's white leghorns I can part with, but I'm in Wittmann. How many were you looking for? I think mine were hatched about 2-14, but I'd have to try and look it up to be sure.

1 roo and 3 hens or so...

I just drove by Pet Club on Country Club this morning and they had a banner on their fence that said something about chicks. You might give them a call.

Yes, Pet Club and the Mesa Feed Barn on Broadway and (around Mesa Drive?) may have some.

Hey! Lacey must have had the heebee jeebees (I've been talking about freezer camp alot) 'cause she finally put out today! Now I have blue, greenish and pinkish brown eggs!
I'm hoping all three Maran eggs hatch and I get a pullet or three. By January I should have quite the colorful egg basket! Maybe even get a white egg layer to round it out!

'Bator watch:

Nurseshelly: Thanks for the sponge idea, the humidity is much more stable. Now where can I get one of those wiggley thingies to put my digital temp probe into?
Whoever gave me the syringe-and-a straw tip for adding water: thank you - the temp is staying much more stable.
Mahonri: If they're hatchable, thems gonna hatch. I got all scientific about it. I have an extra plug and am adding another hole for another straw so the water can be added to either side of the reservoir. Temp stable, humidity more stable, fired Emily. Waiting 24 days for late hatches, not candling until day 10...

Any other advice is gratefully accepted!

we're midtown too (although all my downtown friends say we're on the eastside). i think the limit refers to any fowl kept on the property... although i'm not sure how strict the city is about it. anyone know? i'm hoping to get away with keeping our roo around. i'm hoping since he's a bantam, he'll be half as loud (although in reality i totally understand that's probably not going to be the case)

You can't have 13 chickens! That is incredibly unlucky! 14 isn't good either, because if one died you'd be unlucky again. I think you need at least 6 more, just to be safe.

I'm in Tucson, too.

Welcome to the obsession urbanchickmama! I'm in midtown Tucson, no turkeys or ducks, but they might be fun. Do they count towards the limit?

I hve some young barred rock cockerel chicks. Not sure I'm quite ready to sell yet, but it shouldn't be too long. I think I have some younger ones that re pullets, but I plan to hold on to them until they are older.
