Arizona Chickens

Alright Tucson and the surrounding areas, time to batten down the hatches and get ready for a drencher! This one has been building strength for the past hour: img/smilies/wee.gif" alt="wee" />">http://www.wunderground.com/radar/radblast.asp?zoommode=zoom&num=6&delay=15&scale=0.500&noclutter=0&ID=EMX&type=N0R&lat=32.21406174&lon=-110.88300323&label=Tucson,%20AZ&showstorms=0&map.x=415&map.y=310&centerx=431&centery=360&lightning=0&smooth=0&showlabels=1&rainsnow=0

Wow, we just had an amazingly intense storm. On the front side we had wickedly strong winds--the local news is now reporting that they were 65 mph. It was really strange too because the air was hot and full of dust which made visibility short. Then the rain came and the temp. plummeted. We probably got only about 1/2" in the 15 min. or so that it lasted. The news is also reporting power outages all over town. The great news is that our fireworks are on!

mclevinson, I keep that radar page open on my desktop and check it all the time during monsoon season. It's great to zoom in and see what's happening in different areas.

They're hilariously cute. Hilary is just taken with them and has named them Louis, Keely, & Etta. They're in a bug rubbermaid container inside right now thanks to a really strong storm. They'll be happy to get out, I'm sure.

Hi I'm in Mesa and am on here everyday gathering up all the good info. I am esp. excited about this AZ portion of the thread. Just recently read about the trader joe"s eggs, how do you know what breed your buying? do they mark the carton or is it just a surprise thing? Cant wait to go check one out, were not having very good luck with the "shipping" of the fertilized eggs.
