my Feb hatch layed their first egg!! A tiny cream egg and she layed it IN THE NESTING BOX. No idea who it came from. About half of them have nice red combs.

AZ SW Seed Exchangers:

The seeds are now with AZPenguin. Gallo was VERY generous and put together a HUGE batch of seeds, including a large packet of his self-collected, San Diego tomato seeds. There are more than plenty of seeds to share among all of us. There are so many seeds that no one needs to worry about missing out on something.

Gallo, thanks so much for sharing your favorites and your seed packet windfall with us!

I added some of my seeds, some favorites, some veggies, herbs, flowers, some local wild plant collections, and one packet of Milkweed seeds from the UA campus. Many of my seeds were from 2009, but I still had very good germination this year. Just plant a few extra.

Ok, I need some advise. I have a Production Red and a Buff Orpington that are about 7 months old. I also have 3 Ameraucanas and 1 BCM that are all 12 weeks old. I'm super anxious to put them all together in the coop/run. They have been free ranging all together now for about 1.5 months. The older ones don't chase the little ones around anymore and I have put the pullets in the run (in a large dog crate) with the older ones a couple of times. I did that again this am and the older ones are not all over the crate like they were before. So, would it be ok to turn the pullets loose with the hens in the enclosure or will I just mess everything up in their little chicken brains? Also, if they are accepted without too much pecking and such, can the pullets eat the layer feed and can the hens eat the grower feed? Or should I just bite the bullet and keep them separated until the pullets are around 18 weeks? Advise?
