Arizona Chickens

Dang it, my suspicions that the Partridge Penedesenca chick we hatched is a roo (large comb, I think pointy feathers) are looking to be right, that baby was up trying to crow this morning. He is about 7/8 weeks old. Anyone want a Partridge Penedesenca roo? He is going to be beautiful, but we live midtown Tucson so a roo is out.

YAY!

Well, I got to sleep in this morning as New Mr. Roo is in the garage! I suppose I could let him out as I hear some of the neighbors doing heavens knows what outside already. My fireman is at the station, but I shan't disturb the fireman behind the wall

He likes roo stew. However, his little weiner dog was out yapping at midnight with their english mastiffs last night. So really, what's the difference

I have to tell you that I really admire you for for taking on such a project! I wouldn't even know where to begin!

I need to take pictures. But it's not really DONE, done. It's cobbled together to keep everyone alive while I'm gone for 3 days. DH doesn't "do" pet maintenance. So it's big, but needs the proper roof. Right now the roof is made out of, well, everything. Damaged doors, wire, shade cloth, plywood that I have cut to make actual pen sides and support the nesting boxes... I put misters on the hoses and added timers.

You guys all send good Juju my way that the effort was not wasted, 'k?

It's a hot mess but it'll do for now. Eventually it'll be 3 coops: Hens, pullets, chicks and/or grow out.
