Arizona Chickens

Thanks again Gallo, I'm gonna go for the wood chips! They are not at all slippery, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Tracydr, I'm sure you've considered Northern Arizona - 83 degrees today in Flag! And the medical center here is first-rate, in my opinion.

I also lived in WY for a short while some years ago and I know exactly what you mean about the wind. Hold on to your hat - not to mention your house, lol!

Yeah, I was pretty freaked out for all of about 3 seconds until I could get my glasses on. I do wonder if the snake was a pet someone released. I picked it up and held it and it wasn't very aggressive at all. I did try to escape from me pretty wildly though. I think it was freaked out too, it had been trapped between the sticks and brought out into the hot sun of mid-day in an instant. It stayed in the back yard for most of the day, moving back and forth along the wall between the compost bins. It's not there anymore. I'm still deciding if I need to tell Gallina del Cielo.

Pastrymama - sorry, I didn't see your 1st post until late last night, and I thought it was too late. I think my regular feed store (OK Feeds)only carries Nutrena and Modesto. The other one carries Nutrena and Purina, at least at their East Tucson store (Tucson Feeds). I have seen Manna Pro products at the East Tucson Wal-Mart (Calf-Manna, chick starter, and grit). They also carry Family Farm Egg Maker, which is purported by some on BYC to be made my Manna Pro. Is this what you are looking for? If so it is about $11 for a 40 lb bag, I think.

If you see a 2nd envelope of Milkweed seeds in the box would you let me know? I think I am going crazy. Well, I am pretty sure I am, but holding out hope.

Don't forget Mr Rogers and Wallace & Ladmo

My brother got to be on the show and get his Ladmo bag - LOL!

Mr Rogers came later--wasn't around when I was little. And I grew up in Dallas, so we had Slam Bang Theater instead of Wallace and Ladmo. My steps and older son did get some Wallace and Ladmo, though.

I had Captain Kangaroo, Mr. Rogers, AND HR PUFFINSTUFF! The best (HR Puffinstuff)! I guess I am of "shoulder" age! I was really irritated and bothered by my little sister's Carebears, Strawberry shortcake, Rainbow Bright, and Smurf obsessions. Blech! Squeeky little blue things!

My husband probably wouldn't tell me, just because I would go all Steve Irwin on it's butt and pick it up. You should have heard him when I picked up the tarantula. And then there was the scorpion
