This sounds similar to what we just used to brood quail. They did very well with it!!

Ours is Flukers clamp lamp for reptiles. With dimmer switch, 75 watt max, and had a purplish light. My Gecko didn't mind sharing.

Being pretty much a newbie, may I ask why switch to reg. light during the day? Our babies were in a tuper tote in a bright day lit room.

Folks are prolly mentioning that 'cause I'm going to have them in a windowless bathroom. Sure which I could use the one with the skylight!

It was worse than the prison in Mexico.

I have learned my lesson. Just because the filter doesn't block certain words doesn't mean that they aren't considered profanity. And even mildly offensive words will offend certain overly sensitive people.
