I've been known to help out with coop services...

Prolly should finish mine first though

Ya Mikey,
Prolly should.

It's looking great ! Looks like you had some great help over the weekend! Loved all the pics! I can't believe how much the chicks have grown!

I've been all week working on my Aviary getting it ready for the quail.
I'm going with cheaper roofing material though.

And minimal assembly required. lol...
Going to try and landscape it some too. It's hard finding the right plants though, that aren't poisonous!

TT! :

Gallo, there is no way your château fort chicken house was cheap. My husband would murder me if I spent that much building a coop. Otherwise I would copy you.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=54950 Does anyone know roughly how much would something like this cost? I might even have the hardware cloth (assuming I can deconstruct the current chicken coop).

TT- don't you need a new coop kitty? I have just the one. He's black, for Halloween. With little white toes on front and white boots on back. His name is Merlin. He would keep all the mice and rats away. He even keeps your neck warm at night and purs you to sleep!

Maybe I'll google it: "Un-chicken related activities"

I tried as well. I made my firts ever batch of mozarella cheese. It is really good. But then I fed the whey to the chickens. There goes the un-chicken relatedness

Ooh, I love cheese making. But, I want to try hard cheese. I can't convince my husband to take time from his schedule to make me a cheese press. I want to make some cheddar, blue and Swiss cheese.
Cheese making at Mikey's house and he build's the presses? A non-chicken event for the control tower?

I have a bunch of really really really long 8x4 pieces of lumber. Could those somehow be made into a more useful size? 4x4? or 4x2? Or is it too hard to cut them length wise? I also have a bunch of large boards. Someone design a coop for me

of course, wood can be cut silly! I bet Gallo even has something to cut it with.
In the future, if you're doing a project that requires buying wood, you can actually have your boards cut into the required sizes at HD or Lowes, no charge. Even plywood.

Wow, our Banties and quail are communicating! It must be some sort of moon cycle or something. I'm waiting on five more banty egg's so Joe and I can have fried eggs for breakfast. I figure they're about half size of a regular chicken, although that still won't make four regular eggs but with only one hen laying and just starting yesterday it could take awhile. Hopefully, the other hen will start soon.

Morning all! I'm packing the younguns into the car and heading to Cali for a few days, so I may be MIA around here.
My Morings tree is listing to the side after our last windstorm! I have it supported now. I had just deep watered, for too long, when the wind hit.
