I have 50# of whole Flax Seed but being an old school pellet and scratch guy I am not sure how long it will last. 50 pounds is allot of Flax since I add only a small amount in their daily scratch ration.

So anyone know the shelf life of Flax Seed in our dry climate? Don't want it to go bad and will try to sell part of it if I need to.

Geeeeze keeping chickens was easier until I met you folks at this forum

Did a major cleaning of the coop and another dusting of the chooks.

I like going in the coop when it smells like pine shavings and not chicken poop. Only got 5 eggs today... 9 yesterday and 7 the day before that so I filled an 18 carton + in the last three days. I'm hoping I can start getting 50+ eggs a week.

Ordered an Ecoglo chick heater to put in my Laree brooder. Laree is going to hatch some eggs for me.

Got a massage today for my back from my massage therapist. He has the healing touch and I'm feeling fantastic... but I didn't hike today either.

Off to Casa Grande tomorrow to visit some friends.

Ohhhhh fellow AZ BYC'rs...

I'm having doubts about One Dot's hen-ly-ness (almost 8 weeks old)

I took her/him and a barred rock out for a spell, & he/she had absolutely no fear of Max. When Max started walking quickly after the Barred Rock (from the BR's point of view read:chasing), One Dot went after Max! Quite humorous in an OH MY GOSH! kinda way. Max really wasn't actually chasing (yet and 'cause I was right there shipping verbal commands at a furious rate!) but I'm on the look out.

So how about a sex change operation...?

so i can live vicariously through you (fireman THINKS he has control, ha ha)

um, how did that dog NOT eat your chickies? my beagle would have taken one and run, all the while trying to chomp it down in one piece! he is a BAD DOGGIE! i really have no clue if one dot is a pitcher or a catcher, i don't even know what breed it is! red broiler or production red????

i thought i had my 2 orloffs figured out and then their tails molted and now they look like hens

oh well. they'll either crow or lay an egg. either way, i'm eating something.
