I was wondering if you ended up keeping that kitten.

Yeah. He's quite a personality. I think he was awfully young when he was orphaned because he tries to suckle on my chin. He leaves drool puddles on my pillow.

But, he's so darn cute! Last night I gave him some green tripe. That's kitty crack, for those who don't know.

after he eats his raw meals he gets wild and has to chew on Joe's toes.

then, he cuddles with me most of the night. Except the other night. He figured out how to use the doggie door and he was out partying until 3AM. Came in and was all snugly after that.

joe couldn't sleep all night because he was worried about him.
Teenaged kids!

Your kitty sounds so cute!
Pippa is still chewing on my toes unless I remember to rub onions on them. She hates onions. It's the only thing we've found that she won't eat. Seriously - she even hoards food. Poor DH found his dress shoes fulled with peanuts and cherry tomatoes the other day. Sheesh.

I threw out pine shavings yesterday just to soak up in the coop and the step (not going there), the eggs were not only mucky, but the shells stained so they were redone for dog treats - scrambled please

My dogs love scrambeled eggs. They have them about once a week, along with the kitten.
I'm making the biggest batch of egg salad with homemade mayonnaise. It's slow going, since I use this old egg cooker from when my parents got married and it boils 7 eggs at a time. Last time I made this big of a batch I think it was when I had guineas. I don't know what got into my chickens but I'm getting a dozen eggs a day.
Next on the agenda will be deviled eggs for snacking. I can make a mean deviled egg with homemade mayonnaise when there's an egg surplus.
I think this spring I will seriously need to consider selling eggs. I really didn't think the breeds I chose would lay like this.

Mine weren't stained at least. I did throw down a couple of flakes of hay and actually cleaned the coop right before it rained. It probably helps that my run has a lot of gravel, too.

Your dogs have a kitten once a week?

Speaking of which--the dog has been diging up and eating rotten eggs. (Some dogs bury bones; mine finds and buries eggs). At least now I know why she threw up on the bed last night.
