I will try and locate one. How cheap is cheap? I need to take some water out right now. I have heard of dry incubation but don't know how that works in AZ.
The best way to know for sure, is to weigh your eggs before setting them. I try and keep my humidity around 30% and the vent thingy open half way....but usually forget for a couple of days and find it around 10% and have to add warm water to get it back up to 30%. I can't fill my reservoirs all the way full, because my turner is an incubator tilter type. The water just pours out if I do. Then at lock down I do a candle and weigh again. When I set the eggs I make a chart using the average set weight as day 1, and then 13% less for day 21, and draw a line between the two numbers. So just compare the average lock down weight to your chart at day 18. I am always just a little below where I should be. I bump up humidity as high as I can get it, by adding extra wet surfaces...evaporating cards or wet paper towels (whatever I have at the time) and open the vent all the way. Once the chicks pip internally, I think they need much more ventilation....because they are breathing then. My goal at lock down is 70%. I use a brinsea eco 20 and it is hard to keep humidity up. I have to add warm water at least once a day in lock down.
I know this sounds confusing....but after a couple of hatches it is really easy. If I can find my instructions, I'll copy the example egg weight chart.
What incubator are you using?? There are hatching threads on many different types. You can get some great info and find out what works for others using your incubator. But remember,. it doesn't matter how much water is in there....it only matters what the surface area of the water is.
clear as mud??
