Arizona Chickens

Finally picked up my girls! Right now they prefer hanging out on top of one of the nesting boxes, and they have no problem flying up to the top. They're super friendly black Dutch Bantam pullets. My roommate says they look like miniature turkeys.

They're so small, could I use a parrot ladder for them or do they really need a ramp?

I have two Black Australorp Roos, five months old that are brothers to my three pullets. If there are any Arizona folks in the Marana area that would like a nice Roo for their flock, I am looking for a trade. Either a Barred Rock Roo or a silverlaced Wyandotte Roo. If I can't find a trade soon, these guys are gonna get an invite to dinner. The picture is of the three pullets.

By the way I started a new thread for all the Az locals to keep in touch its called Arizona Silkies... stop on by and post your pictures. Due to the heat here I dont ship and only sell and trade to locals. Id love to get together with some AZ silkie owners sometime since we all speak silkie.
Post the url. I can't find it.
Oh and answer my email please.

Forgive me for a quick brag, but I can't help myself. My daughter's high school just got ranked as the #1 high school in the nation by the Washington Post and the #5 high school in the nation by Newsweek!

Excellent!!! For awhile there our schools were getting such a bad wrap.

with 5 windows the ladies don't seem to mind. This is my first endeavor with chickens and I have to say that I LOVE IT! I can't think of a more relaxing hobby with breakfast benefits! I'm told that the two blonde girls are Wyandottes and I supposedly have a blue Americauna and a Deleware (black looking barred hen). I'm not sure, but this is the first 24hrs in their new home and they seem to be quite happy!

Actually, the original home owner had this around the side yard. Don't get me started on the rediculous things this house was in the beginning!
