Arizona Chickens

We went to the Superstition Farm Market on Hawes Road tonight to check it out. What fun. They had goats, sheep and a donkey you could feed and they must have had two dozen or more hens, roosters, chicks, and geese. And a farm dog that wants you to play ball with him. What a fun place. We bought some milk and cheese from them. We will be back for sure. They have all kinds of eggs for sale too, but....well...I already have a few of those of my own.

Oh fun! I will have to check them out. I have never been.

Day 4 of our new chicks and we are just loving them! I have a personal favorite, she is a California Grey named Yolkie who hops in your hand to just "hang out". I think she'd love a roost so I may need to add that to the brooder this weekend.

Grrr...Just wrote a huge post then click backspace twice and removed it all...

Quail: I have seen many posts here about quail but way before I became interested. I am now in the planning phase and am getting serious before winter comes.

What kind have you had? What was the purpose (pet/eggs/meat)? What kind of housing did you have for them?

What is the purpose of button quail? They are really cute?

Can you house multiple quail species together? Will they cross breed?

Have thought about gamblers quail but can't find the permit information on the fish and wildlife site.

Any info would be helpful.
