Hi Pima Chickens! How are you?

ArizonaChicken - A stray dog got into the yard while the chickens were free ranging - my husband was home and didn't hear a thing. The one survivor is living with a friend's flock. I cried and cried, but it is time to try again

Any Black Copper Marans people out there? I need a rooster bad, mine was killed by a dog before I could get out there to stop it. I want to hatch babies out this spring but ive had heck of a time finding a mature rooster or even a cockerel. Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks

Did you try googling his name? Or call the state fair entry department and ask for his contact information. If you had asked at the desk while poultry were there, you could have at east left him a message.

Thanks! I can't believe we were able to avoid the chicken math for this long. It's been a whole year since we started with our first batch.

Congratulations on your restraint--that truly is an accomplishment around here. Congratulations on your first year of chickens too! I think that in the long run you'll be glad you were able to hold out for a year. By spreading out the ages within your flock you'll have a better distribution of layers over time.
