So, I'm living in Arizona -- and this is the first year I've let the Roos stay. Since we get more than 21 days of 90+ weather, is it possible for embryos to start to develop without a hen sitting on them? Because of my work schedule, egg gathering is skipped twice in the week (Sun and Wed). Without a roo, I never had to worry about development starting in the past.
That brings to mind another question -- since the girls (mostly leg horns and Cal. greys) sometimes find the weirdest places to lay, places I don't find right away, could I end up with surprise chicks popping out of some dark hole or unsuspecting bush?
