Arizona quail

If they're on the ground ice bottles are probably best to prevent mud. Mine are in a patio so I make giant ice blocks in an old Blue Bunny ice cream container and put them on a towel on the floor for them. That size ice block lasts about 3-4 hours and then they have the wet towel to cool off on.

I hate to keep asking questions, but it’s been a huge topic with my own mini community of quail keepers. Myself and three others are keeping quail for the first time through the summer. Could you post a pic of your setup? I obviously need to make a few changes, but good to know about the ice bottles. I also have a few bins to put them in, so thank you for the info.

My quail live on the screened patio attached to the house. Here's a pic from last summer when Pedro had her two babies. The babies are on the ice towel and Pedro is running toward me. She was very protective of her babies. 😂
