Arizona Summer Sunshine

Well, today was a bit rainy today in Yuma, Arizona. It was very cloudy and the rain was beautiful! right after the rain ended, the sun started to come out and I couldn't resist snaping a few pics.

Just wanted to show off some of our Arizona Sunshine.

Yes I do. Here in the valley it was cool and over cast. But I love our sun. day after day of it.

Hi,

I am looking for someone that has raised chickens in AZ and knows what they are doing. We are in Phoenix and it was at least 110 today. Our coop is well ventilated and in the shade but still hot. I made sure the chickens had a lot of water and put some watermelon in for extra hydrations ... anything else I should be doing?

Sounds like you are doing a good job. Where in Phoenix?

I give them lots of cool water. The coop has a fan to circulate air.. the coop is mostly in the shade all day.

I also sprinkled their run and the top of the coop with cool water to help cool it with evaporation.

My son also gave them some frozen yogurt treats and they just went nuts over them.
