Arkansas Meet-Ups, Swaps and Such

There's a new breeder around our area trying to get a monthly swap set up. Not sure how it's gonna go, though.

We got a show coming in september, the show earlier this year was pretty good from what i heard. might try and make this one. Lots of new long time breeders moved in, so we're eager to see what breeds they show off.

So where is the area you Luce in? I'd be very jntererested that.

I'm down here in El Dorado. Union county. We have about four reputable breeders that go to the shows, the fourth just moved here a few months back. She has some gorgeous blues. Can't remember what exactly they were. She spent 7 years making her line. I got a beautiful silver laced cochin boy from her. I'm eager to see if the polish breeder will be there this go round.

At the last show, there were bantams, games, standards. A lot of different breeds, even some phoenix's.

That is a long trip for me, probably won't get to make it this year still job searching.

Need to get down pretty soon though, got kinfolks I need to visit.

Understandable. They have lots though. The main breeder ranges from all kinds of oegbs to barreds, heritage, lemon blue splash, wyndottes (bantam and standard), cochins, frizzles, silkies. Tip of the iceberg. We've got breeders with polish, sebrights, americauna's, rirs, dominiques, leghorn and so forth. The two newest breeders, we're still learning what all they have. One is a 16 time champion shower.

Our local pet store keeps a steady supply of chicks, ducks and odds/ends birds. We're about to order some delawares pretty soon.

Looks like the show this september might be a bust. Heard from a reputable breeder that bird flu is going around, so a lot of big time breeders are not showing/selling. Hopefully i can get my new polish, silkies and delawares before it gets to our area.

The local pet store has some barnavelder's, black jerseys, rirs and another breed right now. Any of those good egg layers that won't burn out after 5 years?

I'm visiting your lovely state. I will be in the Little Rock area on the 3rd and headed back to Texas through Texarkana on the 4th. If there is anyone along that route with pure breed hatching eggs or chicks, I may be interested. Please PM me.
Breeds I am focused on right now are Golden Cuckoo Maran, Silver Sebright, Black Australorp.
Although I'm not against getting into other breeds, it is my anniversary after all;)

The next auction schuduled in Saline County @ the fairgrounds is September 19th.

Hey Draye.

My summer has been crazy. Getting ready for fair now. If they aren't gone by September, I have a few roos that need to go. I just posted them on the BST. My son is at school at Hot Springs now so I might use that excuse to bring my birds your way next month if they aren't gone.

Just reminding all of the upcoming auction at the Saline County Fairgrounds o. September 19th. Auction begins at noon.

SEE YOU ALL THERE!
