    Can any of the Texas members let me know if these creatures mess with chickens? The reason I ask Morgan and I, my dog Morgan, were walking out to the chicken pen and he alerted to something. I didn't see what had his attention then he bolted passed the chicken run and got to chasing something that was in the area where I let the chickens out this morning. He ran it into a hole where I had killed an armadillo once before. I finally dug down to him to get a shot and killed him. Then buried it there.

    Just wondering if that's another pest to look for.

    No....and they are nearly blind. In Argentina they fatten them and eat them. They dig around looking for grubs and stuff.

    They will eat eggs if they are on the ground, seen it for myself.

    They won't mess with your chickens, they are nearly blind and not interested in that large of a meal. Not in TX but I was hunting in OK one fall and saw an armidillo in the field, I stood over the trail it was on and it walked between my legs, and never even knew I was there.
