Arrgh, having behavioral issues with my drakes!

Thankfully, I haven't seen any shenanigans with the lowliest one, yet at least. I can't wait for it to pass.

Yup, they are pet duckies

, and it was just an unlucky draw they all turned out boys. Yep, I let them roam outside during the day, but they come in at night and are diapered to keep them out of the claws and mouths of night predators. I even let my sweety boy Bergensteinstien, provided that A) he has taken a thorough bath B) his diaper harness has been freshly laundered C) his diaper is clean and D) he just generally doesn't smell stinky, sleep on my bed on a pillow next to me or on my chest.

Especially now when the other two are going after him; the ground can be like "hot lava".

I have sometimes had a newly hatched duckling in bed with me if it is doing poorly- but I think the idea of having a full grown duck on your bed is gorgeous. I would be scared to wake in the night with it biting my ear or something......

People have dogs sleep on the bed- and even in it...so why not a diapered duck?? You must share a close bond with your boys. Does he ever try to get down and wander around during the night??

So I need a trio or two of mallard hen hunting decoys with screwy holes drilled in the rear end, got it!

My drake did that to, at the time I had 1 female to him, then came the ducklings and now I have 3 males to 8 females, the daddy does the exact same to me as yours does and I have females. Even my cats in the house are fair game to a crazed drake! Mine come in also and were in, and I will be getting diapers pretty soon. Especially my special needs girl, she can't handle 2 drakes on top of her at once. EWWW! She's the only mature female cycling right now so I have tried putting her in the house for a break, daddy hardly has gone after the other females.

It's usually ok until morning when he either fwomps off the bed to chatter with the other two about being hungry, but you do get the pleasure of being woken by gentle nibbling of your bangs or ears yes. Sometimes he does go off and join his brothers, and sometimes he stays all night. It's about a 50-50. In any case, they seem to sleep wherever my head is nearest, as in they crowd to sleep on the floor besides me bedstand, the side where my head is located.
I share a close bond with Bergensteinstien and him with me since i don't bother him and he's just so sweet being the lowly one. I've never seen him fight back or give me any attitude, and he's always happy to see me.

Aaargh, I walk around and I have drakes just swarming my feet! I think it's because I just come and go on my merry way so they see it as chasing them off. Pinch their necks, hold them down dominantly, it doesn't seem to make a difference. They just seem so angry and they really bite and pinch! Grr! I suppose it's better than teenager humans though, since that gets better after a few years and hopefully these guys will get better in a few weeks!

How long is the breeding season? My drake likes to charge me when I turn my back (he immediately stops if I turn around, as if nothing happened).

My 2 ducks have their own room inside the house. My husband and I sometimes lie down with them. Both of them love to sleep by our heads. They recently discovered that sleeping on top of the pillow next to your head is very comfy.
