Arrrhhhh.....LOVE BUGS!!!!

I think lovebugs are just a Gulf Coast thing and that they are native to South America. I don' t think anything eats them. I've never seen anything prey on them at all. Supposedly, spraying Pam on your car will keep them from sticking, but I have not tried it. I do know that if you do not wash them off, their guts are acidic and will cause the paint on your car to peel. In spite of all that, I love the little boogers...they are so cute and funny! If they just didn't mess my car up...but oh well, they are far from the most irritating thing in life.

I don't mind them, I think they're darling and they're fun to catch and watch crawl across your hand before flying away. Since they fly in swarms, you can catch them just by swiping your hand across a cloud of them . . . the only time they irritate me is when we go on motorcycle trips during love bug season. You wind up looking covered in little black freckles.

This is 45 minutes into a 4 1/2 hour ride from Ocala to Miami. My hubby was on his way back down to Miami to go to work. He sent me the picture to say it was going to be one very long ride.
