I'm coloring three black individuals (animal coats and hair) atm and I'm actually using grays. It looks better than I expected.
Everything prior to the last couple of months was true black, though.

I think I have never practiced this. This is @puffypoo 's line art. I just colored it. It was difficult. I should try TMs way.
