Well, okay. Lemme start at the beginning.

Gage organized a group that would go out and do everyday hero stuff. Help those in need, volunteer, entertain at nursing homes and hospitals, ect. Misty joined, although she was pretty... distant at first. Gage would sit down at the table, and she would get up, that kind of stuff.
Then they got a call about hearing cries in a tenement hall, and went to investigate. Somewhere along the line, her and him got into it. I don't remember exactly how it went. He was trying to impress her with his knowledge of war and such, and that dug up some bones for her. She had experienced all that, and he was just quoting Hollywood.
As they investigated, they found the source of the goulish cries. An abused child locked in a closet. Then some thugs came up the stairs. She covered for them as he flew his friends down from the balcony to safety.
Later, she was having a PTSD episode, and was on the verge of harming herself. Absolutely lost, he kinda...just, started singing. Somehow, it chased away her ghosts away, and she sat down next to him, started to sing along.
Later, she was limping from an injury (my mind fails me again, as to how she got hurt) and they had to follow this lady on a motorcycle for more information. Her boyfriend, Grant, had already offered to carry her (cause super speed), but then so did Gage. She wanted to fly, she excused herself, and climbed into Gage's back.
He flew steady, and they were almost there, but she wasn't ready to quit. So he did something incredibly stupid. If she wants to fly, she's going to fly. He though, and flew headfirst into a thunderstorm.
He was most definitely more afraid of what he had done than she. She even got off his back, holding on by his hands. I guess she was trying to teach him to dance, but he was too worried about not dropping her to realize.

That was when I started to ship them, but I didn't let on.

Some time later, she was up against her arch nemesis. Again, he had no idea what to do. All he knew was that someone was hurting his friends, and this was the first time Gage got really mad. He took the motorcycle and tried to run the guy over. This resulted in the bad guy getting away, and him running headfirst into a brick wall.

Last, she was facing him again. Grant had turned out to be an Elemina: the worst kind of shapeshifter, and most decidedly not the real Grant. When she at last offed her nemesis, Gage was there. All the weight of what had just happened, she just ran to him and tackle-hugged him, and he did what he does best. Be a care-bear :3 (That was the inspiration for the pic I did.)

In the end, he would lose his wings in a battle, and nearly died.
