I have a question, when it comes to putting logo's onto things you've drawn. do you think that real name brands should be avoided? or do you think the company would see it as free advertising?

I would say, it depends on what you use the picture for.
If it's just to, say, show us, then logos are probably fine.
If you're thinking about selling your art or using it for any monetary gain, then I'd probably avoid it.
