This image frightens me.
Claw marks. Spiderwebs.. or ghost hands. The black stuff almost makes it looks like gravity's been reversed. *-*

You wrote the description better than I could have.
The door part is quite streaky, but I can't work it any more without damaging the paper. I need thicker stuff but I'm too cheap to buy it.

Nope, you're 100% correct.
I made the doorknob out of my own head, but had it look vaguely upside down and I reversed the direction that shadows would ordinarily come from in that sort of design. I think it worked to make something slightly unsettling.

Oh, and have I mentioned I hate drawing shadows without references?
