Artery Clogging Fat - Update! Obesity is starvation!

I follow the old path, and get as much as 75% of my calories from fat......

What was the diet that had a person just eating fat and protein?
did the powers that be decide that was bad too?
This is very interesting.

*snicker* I told you I could eat more bacon! (real bacon, not that watery slimed crap in the grocery vacuum bag). I always maintained youre better off with butter than margarine, and now this...which isn't the first time I've heard this. My BIL, a professional health specialist, talked to us years ago about too much modern grain, rancid/industrialized plant oils, etc. Big stickler for properly filtered water.
But for me, it takes the figurative 2x4 across the skull. This week confirmed with the GI specialist Gluten is bad. Add that to the allergy to milk and soy, the sensitivities to all sorts of other food additives, and all I'm left eating looks alot like that "Paleo" diet.

I'm working my way toward that. Working full time makes it tough at the end of a bad hair day to spend much time in the kitchen.

Are you referring to the Atkins diet?

Dr. Atkins was quoted once as saying he based part of his diet on Traditional Foods. He studied the work of Weston A Price, and the Foundation that was set up in his name.
He then compiled a huge amount of processed and fake foods to go along with the real foods.
In my opinion, the Atkins diet was a total fail, because it still refused to acknowledge the ancient wisdom of all real and whole foods, along with proper preperation.

Paleo is a good way to go.
Have you tried real sourdough before? Celiacs are able to eat it just fine.
What about raw milk?
Its night and day between raw and processed with the way the body handles it.

Have you noticed when you grow food, or process game, that the work involved in getting it to your table is almost spiritual? there is a connection to life in a way that food in a bag just does not give you.
I will admit though, Sometimes after working the garden, picking the food, cleaning the food, and then cooking the food, and serving the food... I am too tired to eat the the food... Best diet in the world.

PaulaJoAnne, thanks. I spent a year practically living on raw milk as a protein source and was never sicker from the allergy - which wasn't diagnosed until a few years later. Man, I loved that stuff! Unfortunately, even the amount in a pill is enough to trigger rashes, asthma, etc. I will look up this real sourdough, but to be honest, I'll probably hold off. I just got done with a gluten challenge and my guts are toast.

And if Mamma ain't happy...

Guess what? I'm thinking the whole family goes Paleo!

3goodeggs, you're so right!

God placed the desire and satisfaction for growing and preparing all our own foods for a good reason!
