Hi, I have a lady that is almost ten years old. She has arthritis in her legs and is having a hard time walking. I so hate seeing my Melody in so much pain! Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to alleviate her pain? I'm rather desperate as my vet just hung up the phone On me. Then another vet (that's 60 miles away) wanted me to bring her in. Total money grab! If anyone has any suggestions on how I can help her, please please let me know.

Do you have any low dose aspirin 81 mg? You could give her half of one every 12 hours for pain. So sorry about your hen. She may be approaching the end of her life. I would consider making a plan to put her out of her misery if the aspirin doesn’t help. Meloxicam is a medicine that vets can prescribe for pain and inflammation. Aspirin is not good to give for more than 3 days because it can cause intestinal bleeding.
