Can someone please advise me on what is happening with my hen’s foot? She has had bumblefoot on both feet for months now. We have been using tricide neo soaks, as well as an epsom salt poultice (durvet) and then we wrap in gauze and vet tape and change it daily. We have routinely removed the scab using prid to soften it, and have expressed what we could, doused the wound with betadine, packed with duoderm gel, covered with a duoderm bandage, wrapped and vet taped the foot, changing the gauze and bandage daily.

My husband is out of town for a couple weeks, and so I’ve only been able to do the tricide neo soaks for the past few days. Now her one foot is turning blue!

She isn’t favoring the foot or picking at it, so I’m not sure how painful it is, but the color change is alarming. I’m so worried, please help me figure out what to do next!

The bruising could be from the wrap. Ensure it is not too tightly wrapped. It sounds like you're doing everything right in terms of treatment and bumblefoot can take weeks / months to heal. Patience and persistence is what's important with bumblefoot.

Thank you @Bawkbok! We’re doing our best, and it is a trying process, though I’d take a long battle with bumblefoot over a lot of other chicken maladies.

The wrap isn’t too tight I don’t think, I keep them as loose as possible. I have a hen who pecks her roosting neighbors’ feet. I have a feeling she might be the culprit. I’ve never seen a bruise like this before though. My husband and I were panicking.
