Article description/Snippet is being ornery.

Hi there, I'm trying to include a brief description of an article and I can't get it to appear on the listing page, it keeps taking a snippet of the article.
What am I missing?

I've had a short description for a few days while drafting, I've tried saving blank and then
retyping. I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a button or a check box

I'm still trying to figure out how you got it to work because I cannot get it to work on one of my articles.

It just fixed itself by the time I checked back on the morning. Certainly not anything I did.
