Artificial light and heat

Can I encourage my males to grow their trains early and keep them longer with a solar light and a heated enclosure? Or is this a ridiculous and terrible idea?

Ridiculous to me... to a degree..

More light and time confined could create battle-rama.

Not spending more energy to stay warm can allow growth elsewhere.

Some misinformed people think keeping your birds colder will encourage more rapid feather growth. I think it's genetically determined but CAN be impacted by nutrition.

Feathers are made from 90% protein AND its' amino acids. What are you currently feeding, including treats and supplements? What breed are we talking?
