Terk had just refilled his moping bucket when he felt his phone vibrate in his back pocket. He got it out and answered. "Hello?"
"Hi. Just wanted to let you know that Margaret is not coming to the restaurant with us today. She said something about being at the hospital with someone and having to give them a lift or something," He said with a grumpy tone in his voice.

"Oh. Ok." Terk replied sounding a little disappointed. "That's fine. Nice of her for what she's doing." Terk said trying to be confident.

"I agree." He said sounding happier. "Do you still want to meet up later?"
By now, Terk had realized that he didn't have enough money to go to a restaurant, so he saw the opportunity to back out. "Na. We can do it another day. I had brought my own lunch anyways." Terk replied.

“Hey Alex. I don’t think I’ll make lunch today. Im at the hospital with someone at the moment and I have to give them a lift so I’ll um talk to you later” she spoke hurriedly glancing around anxiously for JR, she’d go see him once she got off the phone
Margaret switched off her phone and grabbed her purse hurrying into the waiting room “sorry JR, I was just on the phone to one of my friends letting him know I won’t make it for lunch” she explained sliding into a seat beside him
Just as Margaret joined him, JR had just finished skimming his eyes over the flyer he took from the desk. “Hey, um it’s all good. Sorry you had to miss out on your lunch.” he said with sincerity, feeling bad that she did have other things to attend to other than school. He leaned forward in his seat, still with the paper in between his fingers, “Apparently there’s a carnival tomorrow evening, maybe you and your friend can check it out? Or even invite your family?” JR shrugged, passing Margaret the paper before a male nurse called his name from one of the examination rooms.

“It’s fine, this is more important.” She said giving him a smile. “A carnival you say? Hmm I’ll have a think about it. It definitely won’t be my family coming” she joked “they think they’re wayyy too good for that. Maybe I’ll invite a few friends.” Her eyes flickered from the brochure he held to him “maybe you’d like to join us? If we end up going that is.”
She looked up as the doctor entered “okay well I’ll see you when you get out.”
