As if my neighbors didn't already think I'm nuts

I spent much of yesterday afternoon on my hands and knees next to the fence dividing our property looking for the severed head of a Soviet soldier. My son was showing their daughter his Indiana Jones toys through the fence and when he pulled it back through the head popped off. Her father came home and asked what was up and I told him, "I'm just trying to find a soldier's head before the chickens do ." Didn't even think how strange that sounded. He just turned and walked into the house without saying a word. His daughter was on her knees cracking up about it. Still haven't found the head. I'll be back out this afternoon.

Thanks for the laugh. I don't think you are nuts. My NE neighbor was nuts. I tried to get her help (I really did I called all the senior care places and the police one day when she was being really loud and crazy) but they wouldn't help her so I just started saying "Bad dog!" when she barked at me. LOL

Grass??? Did I say anything about grass?? More like lots and lots of dead leaves and acorns and twigs. Our old golden retriever once lost his favorite squeaky toy in the leaves. We searched for days and ended up finding it about 6 years later. It was starting to rot so we couldn't let him have it but he still recognized it. He never liked another toy like that one.

Oh and their daughter got her first up close look at the new coop and asked how many chickens do you have NOW?

hehe, that was a good laugh, sounds like something I would say to my MIL! Although I don't have 'neighbors', the people that used to rent this place (we now own it) had several children, etc. They were slobs. But, my point is that every time it rains, something new washes up out of the dirt....toys, fishing gear, clothes, dishes, you name it, I've found it! LOL

Whoa! We usually just get rocks, lots and lots of rocks. And ocassionally a piece of glass which is scary. My parents cut down some shrubs in front of their old house when they moved 5 years ago. They found a Barbie go-go boot. I must have been playing on the porch one rainy day and it fell of into the shrub which was too thick to find anything in.

LOL here also. It seems there was a burn pile on every inch of this land at one time. I find all sorts of burnt nails and other metal and glass, ect. every time it rains. Just when I think my horse pasture is finally safe I find something new after a rain

I've found unbroken glass bottles before that were buried in the mud. Scary! I just pray my horses don't ever step on the items and abcess a hoof and try very hard to pick up everything I find as soon as I see it.
