Please help ASAP- I found a 8 week old white leghorn pullet laying on her side in the coop today. No runny eyes or nose, just tired, she can sit but not eat or drink. I do not know the color of poop yet.

I wrapped her in a towel and gave her a few sips of water, she will not eat or drink and is "cold" feeling eyes are grey and puffy around the eye area. She was recently put in the coop with the other same age and no problems. (there are other older chickens about 17 weeks old in the same coop that she was put in)

Is this illness or injury? her crop is empty and she has not been eating it looks like for a few days.

I just noticed this today..... Please respond should I let mother nature do the job? I do not think she will make it I just want to know if this is contagious?

Did you check her all over? Any wounds that might be hiding? Any mites or lice? Swollen eyelids?

Keep her separate from the others. Give pedialyte by dropper if you have one. Drop the drops on the top front part of her beak. This way the drops will gently go into her mouth and she won't get liquid in the wrong pipes. Liquids are the most important right now.

Try a scrambled egg. This may help wake up her appetite. Does she have any other favorite treats? Keep her quite and let her rest. She may just be feeling off or other symptoms might come out. Keep us informed.

Thanks, I did give her a few drops of water several times. the first two time she kept it down.... then she just slowly went to sleep. She was warm and dry when she passed quietly.

RIP baby...., I think she was hit or damaged in her crop area by a big chicken. No cuts or bruises and all of the others are fine . No sign or sickness.
