ash from wood stove.

Is there any use for ash from my wood stove. I just dump it now. Is there anyway that it could be usefull for the chickens?

A lot of people us it in the dust bath. It is also put on gardens. If I had a bunch I'd probably try sprinkling it on my pine shavings.

I'm not sure. I know my banties love to scratch around in the ashes from our burn pile!

I just dump mine in piles under the fruit trees (after they are SOAKED with water in a fire pit first). The chickens bathe in it on dry stretches of days.

They are good for the fruit trees, too, I have read.
