Asil Chicks

I bought 2 asil hatching eggs from a breeder. The rooster was normal Black breasted red with yellow legs, and the hen was wheaten with yellow legs. The chicks that hatched are penguin-colored with spotted feet. Is it normal for chicks to look nothing like the parents? Is it possible to sex chicks at 4 weeks?

I would imagine they are crossed with something hopefully all gamefowl.

Any ideas on male or female? Photos at 5 weeks. Probably too early, but I want to get a head start on building their houses if males.

No problem! They both have red, well developed combs, as a pullet would have close to no development in the comb.

I don’t know much about orientals but I can’t even tell most of mine at 5 weeks especially black birds.

Yep...both very likely male.
It's definitely difficult to be a hundred percent positive at this age. Keep us updated.
