Ask a chef

Benny,
First off, I am new here and really impressed with all that you post here in this thread!! Everyone here is posting up amazing food.
I like your smoker and have something similar. It is called a UDS - Ugly Drum Smoker. Mine is so ugly that I call it an FUDS. You'll understand

I also use my Weber kettle as well for grilling and smoking.
Here are some pics from the UDS

Baby BackRibs and Stuffed Jalepenos (called ABTs - Atomic Buffalo Turds)

Pork Shoulder from the Weber

I also do cold smoking of cheese and bacon

I look forward to seeing more from everyone here!!

I build my own UDSs. Built about a dozen so far for friends. I'd be happy to send instructions and parts list your way.

Please use an unlined drum (no epoxy liner) and if possible one that didn't have any petroleum oil in it. The cleaning of the drum is a NASTY job. DAMHIKT!!

Check bakeries for drums that had syrups, etc. or buy one from a suppler in your area. the rest is common plumbing parts, Stainless Steel nuts and bolts, two grills and a bit of expanded metal.
