I don't however see them often in stores around here. Maybe if I asked, but I could always get some though my works food distributor if I really felt the need to use them. A dessert maybe.

Indeed you can't really eat them fresh, the need to be cooked, baked. They are rich in pectin, very good for jam making!

It's taken me quite some time but I've finally read the entirety of this thread, I must say there are some brilliant suggestions and ideas floating around, I don't cook as often as I'd like and lack the creativity of you guys but this has given me some ideas for the weekend!
