Absolutely! Two of the pros of storing eggs on the kitchen counter are that they last longer, and won’t freeze your fingers when you crack them. Two of the pros of keeping eggs in the fridge are that they can be washed, and they are safer.

I think you’re on the bottom of the pecking order. How many chickens are there? Are there multiple dust baths? There may be too few dust baths for too many hens!

Hi Maisie, I am a 4, maybe 5 year old New Hampshire Red hen. I still lay maybe 1 - 4 crummy eggs a month; they’re pretty thin shelled. (a problem for another day) But I still pretend to lay a few times a week, I even sing the eggs song. Am I just crazy and hormonal, coming out of laying because of my age? Or am I an internal layer?
