Our stove is also a glass top, but the owners manual says I can use a canner as long as it does not over hang the burner by more than an inch.

eta: needed to add the "er" on the end of burn to make it burner

I've been wanting a canner but I know which one I want. The All-American!! I just don't want to ask for one yet because we're gonna be doing a lot of moving, and I already have a bunch of heavy kitchen-related gadgets lol.

My mom had a 22 qt. Presto Cooker Canner that I remember her using when I was young...I was probably 11 yo or so...so that would make it approx. 30 years old, anyway, she hasn't used it since then, so now I have it. I replaced the lid gasket and the little rubber thing on the top and it works like a charm. Holds 24 half pints and 7 quarts. I love it! I also have a big water bath canner for jams and pickles and such.

I use it on my glass top stove and do not have any issues......are we not suppose to use it on glass top stoves?

I think there are quite a few of us on this thread that are asking Santa for a pressure canner this year!

I bought a water bath canner last year but haven't used it yet since we moved in the middle of planting season & I never got the chance to grow anything this year. Next year is going to be a whole different situation, though. So very much looking forward to learning how to can and preserve my own foods.

I have a double pressure cooker which I highly recommend, you can get more canned with the same amount of energy of a single layor pressure cooker. (we use the pint jars cause it's just the two of us (except for doing the tomatoes then we use quart jars).

I also have a flat top stove and it's been working fine (been canning on for 2 years).
