This is my first hatch. Yeah! But it's so nervewracking. I don't know if what I'm seeing is normal or weird. For example, my eggs hatched 1 day late, beginning early last night and they're still hatching today. I took the first 5 out of the incubator this morning after they fluffed up. They're laying under the heat lamp, all sprawled out on their stomachs, and they look like they're dead. But if I wake them up, they jump up, and stand up, wobbling a bit, then flop back down, rest, go to sleep again. Is this normal? The ones in the feed store are active and peeping. Thanks for any experienced advice.
Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
