Asmalp Forest~An elf RP~•There's a storm coming, best ye be prepared.

Altura rode Heartsong to the nearby creek. "Tk tk tk." She whispered. Aktura filled her water skins and let Heartsong drink before riding back to camp. She unslung the heavy deer meat from Heartsong's back and started to make a fire. "Es et mes, kohura, es et mes, suhuray, es et mes dio amew." Rose started singing a song she made up, her soft voice blending with the wind. When the fire was good enough Akrura spit-roasted the deer.

Tod took careful aim with his bow and shot a small rabbit. Gathering up his things, he snatched the rabbit from the ground and followed his nose toward the smell of roasting venison. On his way he spied a small doe, quietly grazing. Shifting his spear to the correct hand, he let it fly. It hit the deer square in the heart. She wobbled a few steps, eyes wide in pain, and then fell dead. Tod hoisted it over his shoulders, not caring that blood was staining his shirt and dripping down his back, and continued on.

Todyn watched her from the woods, his amber eyes glittering in the half-light. He sniffed the air, enjoying the scent of the cooking meat.

"Sing a song of tween time, sing a song of tween time, neither day nor night, when we don't fight, sing a song of tween time." Aktura sang one of the many songs her mother had taught her."Sing a song of good times, sing a song of bad times, sing a song of the times in between and make sure that it rhymes." Aktura laughed at the words she had added in. Then it dawned on her, she had forgotten the most important part of the song. "Oh, dear. And make sure you're on time? No, can't be."

Tod closed his eyes, letting Aktura's song drag back old memories, now pushed to the back of his mind and almost forgotten. With a jolt he remembered the face of his mother, a very dark-skinned woman with long, flowing chocolate-colored hair and sparkling amber eyes. In his memory, she was singing that very song to him. Tod's mother had disappeared decades ago, and before this moment he hadn't been able to recall how her face looked.
