Aspen Bedding for Coop?

I usually use pine chips as litter inside my coop, but the store was out of the big bags of pine. I have heard never to buy cedar due to causing respiratory problems, so I bought Aspen chips. Is Aspen safe to use with chickens?

I only heard of cedar as one to avoid. Aspen is a hardwood and may not be as absorbent as pine, but not sure. All you would be loosing is performance,
