Aspirin Dosage

Hi Everyone,

How many days can I safely give baby aspirin for a sprained leg? How long will a sprain leg usually take to heal with rest? I have a chicken that has a limp for about 2 days. Everything has been ruled out ( disease, eggbound, deficiency, bumblefoot etc.) so we believe she jumped down wrong and sprained her leg. She is quarantined in a dog crate within the coop where she is around her flock. We are giving her 1/2 of a baby aspirin and some "Poultry Drench" in the mornings.

FYI... Don't have a chicken vet in my area so it is all on me. Thanks

I gave my fully grown rooster a scraping (perhaps 1/16 of a whole tablet) of a 75mg aspirin tablet and mixed it with wet cat food. It worked wonders!

He too had done something to his leg. We kept him separated for 10 days until he looked completely healed; when we let him out with the girls again, the first thing he did, was hump them all
