Hi everyone. I have noticed my one hen picking, pecking and yanking feathers out of all my chickens especially two of them. I've coated all their bare areas with blue-kote and I have still noticed some pecking. Is there any way for me to assert my dominance on the bird, or to correct her? Our is there anything I should do with her since she is injuring my whole flock? Please help!

if you can get a rooster, they put the hens in line

Thats what I was thinking if we had to rehome her we know lots of people with roosters. We do not have the time and energy for a rooster and mainly got the chickens for pets, egg laying was a bonus.

I think mommissan has a good idea. Here is an example: http://www.eggcartons.com/Pinless-Peepers/productinfo/PINLESS-P/

Just
not a fan of beak trimming. Really think that the hatchery trimmed beak birds look -- not good.

went to your page...your coop is fabulous, and your birds are beautiful.

Thank you so much! they are now all pecked up and a bit featherless due to the one mean bird. Thank you for the link!

They stick in the nostrils. They come with special pliers to put them on. Check out the link that ChicKat posted. I've seen them used on pheasant farms. Works great without injuring the bird.
